Quaran-time love!

How is Day 14 of this COVID-19 lockdown treating you? I have, for sure, figured a new life with new routine and these few days have given me a sense of discovering my own inner strengths and to put them in running shoes.

For example, I am able to deal with my over-workaholic mindset and take breaks in between my work schedule and the domestic chores. Since we (myself and my baby sister) live with our Mom, who suffers from Schizophrenia and acute paranoia; we are used to not having any domestic help at home. Oh! it did not take me long to get accustomed to being at home, dealing with her and to be able to do every single chore in the home without getting disturbed. So, PATIENCE!! This quaran-time has taught me patience.

Second thing I really wanted to change in me was to get into the habit of reading, and am almost there. I have been reading this book by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami on how to practice yoga in the modern age. I have a few books on spiritual development and self help which are really close to my heart. I guess, this is the best time to indulge in all the bucket-list reading. To help myself stick to this reading habit, I thought of doing small DIY stuff from whatever material is available in the house and the first thing I could think of was a bookmark! So, yes! I made a few bookmarks for myself and my friends. I guess, when we really want to do something, we find ways to get closer to the goal, bit-by bit.

Also, talking about Yoga and how Yoga benefits in the modern time like this; especially for the current lifestyle attributes and the pacing stress – I thought why not remove 30 minutes a day to create this new habit for my yet-to-come busy life again (after the lock-down!). So, it happens that the the major and immediate effects of yoga are said to be:

  • Improves flexibility of muscles.
  • Corrects the posture and alignment of the body.
  • Renders better digestive system.
  • Strengthens internal organs.
  • Cures asthma.
  • Cures diabetes.
  • Helps in curing heart related problems.
  • Helps in skin glow.

I am sure, you must be knowing this, however, you may read a bit about why yoga should be a part of our daily lifestyle here : https://www.boardandlife.com/importance-of-yoga-in-modern-life/

Certainly, as you know that I am fond of cooking; I have been working on my culinary skills as well. There are so many resources available and what best time it could be to experiment than this? Don’t you agree? I think even the people who never stepped into the kitchen have got their hands at least once in to cooking. Proof is the Facebook timeline! You might want to explore a bit of yours too! Check this: https://detailed.com/food-blogs/

Apart from cooking, art, and yoga, you wouldn’t have come out of this quarantine in the best way if you have not pondered around the small joys, the simplest of sounds coming in from nature, the morning and evening skies, to observe the ability of nature to revive itself and the quality time with your family. Find your bliss and carry it along when you move along to a new phase of you, the new phase of life… which will what it be, after quarantine!!

Sending you loads of love, prayers, safe and good vibes..
